Rental Terms

This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle in Garston
- To rent a vehicle from Garston Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old. Age requirements may vary depending on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. A valid driving license, sufficient for the vehicle category and held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement, is required. Additionally, you must present valid identification, proof of current address, and provide payment information along with a security deposit. Other specific conditions may also be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Information
- Bookings can be made on our website, via phone, or directly at our Garston office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are due upon vehicle collection. All prices are in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards through secure payment processors.
4. Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties to document the state of the car. You must return the vehicle in the same condition it was collected, factoring in reasonable wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. The fuel level should match that at the time of collection; otherwise, refueling fees will apply. If you return the vehicle late, additional charges may occur, so please contact us immediately if you foresee a delay. You are accountable for any parking tickets, traffic infractions, or related charges accrued during your rental, alongside an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Information
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every car rental in Garston. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts will be outlined in your Rental Agreement. Optional insurance upgrades may be available to lower your financial liability. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking made and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Vehicle
- Prohibited uses include engaging in illegal activities or using the vehicle for racing, rallying, off-roading, or similarly risky pursuits. The transport of hazardous materials, sub-letting to unauthorized parties, or allowing unapproved drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding designated passenger or weight limits, and operating the vehicle outside specified geographical boundaries are also prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Garston will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for instances of fraud.

These Terms are subject to the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be addressed exclusively by the courts in these jurisdictions.
